I would describe my work as fresh and honest. My signature style combines beautiful natural light, subtle colours with effortless poses. I keep the retouch to a minimum and focus on capturing real emotions.

I often choose outdoor settings for my photoshoots rather than a sterile studio. Somerset has so much to offer with beautiful local parks, blossoming orchards, mysterious woodlands, and romantic coastline.

When should I schedule my newborn session?

The ideal time is within the first 5-14 days after birth, when babies are naturally sleepy. If your baby is older, don’t worry, newborn sessions can still be beautifully captured at any stage.

Petite Stories are short, natural sessions held outdoors or in the comfort of your home. Perfect for families, children, maternity, or simple portrait sessions, capturing you as you are, because your story deserves to be remembered.

No pressure, no stiff poses. Just a small, beautiful moment for you and the people you love.

Includes:

  • 30-minute outdoor session (local park, meadow, or woodland location)

  • 5 professionally edited digital images delivered via online gallery

  • Option to purchase additional images at £10 each

  • For up to 4 people (extra £10 per additional person)

     

Booking Details:

  • Remaining balance due on the day of the session.

Good to know.

I always aim to take a variety of posed and more natural unposed images of families interacting with one another. Please do let me know if you particularly prefer one over the other. The best advice I can give is to simply interact with your children with cuddles, tickles, games, collecting flowers and anything that comes naturally to you. I’ll take care of the rest.

What should we wear for our session?

For child and family portraits, I generally recommend soft, muted colours in neutrals or pastels such as denims, blues, creams, soft pinks and eathy tones. These colours flatter most skin tones and work really well in natural locations, but also will add elegance and softness to your images. I suggest avoiding bright primary colours and bold patterns/stripes if possible, as these can distract the eye from the subject.

Layers, knits, floaty dresses for mums and sweet subtle prints for children can be absolutely lovely. For autumn and winter photos, chunky knits in berry, jewel tones and mustards can look fantastic! Feel free to send shots of clothing if you would like a second opinion.

What if the weather isn’t on our side?

I closely monitor the forecast in the days leading up to your session. If the weather isn’t suitable, like heavy rain, strong wind, or anything that would make the experience uncomfortable, we can reschedule to the next available date at no extra cost.

What if my child is shy, sensitive, or neurodivergent?

Every child is different and that’s something I deeply respect.
My sessions are relaxed, unhurried, and led by your child’s pace. There’s no pressure to perform, smile, or behave in a certain way. I allow plenty of space for children to warm up, observe, move, or take breaks if needed.

If there’s anything you’d like me to know in advance – sensitivities, routines, or ways your child feels most comfortable, please don’t hesitate to share. Creating a calm, safe experience matters just as much to me as the photographs themselves.
